Recently, the Ministry of Education announced the approval results of the Chinese-foreign cooperatively-run school project in the second half of 2019. In cooperation with New Mexico State University of the United States, our university organized an undergraduate education project for civil engineering major, which was approved by the Ministry of Education, and our Chinese-foreign cooperatively-run school project achieved a historic breakthrough.
In order to respond to the development strategy of the state and provincial governments, meet the needs of local economic development, raise the level of internationalization of education and promote the training of international talents, our university has introduced actively American high-quality educational resources, advanced teaching and management models, and has jointly developedinternational advanced applied engineering talentswith international vision and communication ability, who master basic knowledge, theory and practice skills of civil engineering specialty, and will be able to engage in civil engineering design, construction and management in the production line of enterprises. According to the relevant regulations of Chinese-foreign cooperatively-run schools and the actual conditions of the two schools, the administrative leaders of the school party committee attached great importance to it and strengthened guidance and arrangements. The International Exchange and Cooperation Department, the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture and other departments repeatedly negotiated withNew Mexico State University of the United Statesin deep discussion to overcome difficulties. After several consultations with experts, repeated research and demonstration and repeated drafts, they finally got the project approved after two declarations.
This year, our school will implement the project offour-year academic system, which will be included in the enrollment plan of ordinary colleges and universities. It will be hosted over by our school. China and the United States will jointly formulatetalent training programs, syllabuses and teaching plans. Students who have completed the prescribed courses and met the requirements for degree awards will obtain a bachelor's degree and a bachelor's degree certificate from Taizhou University.
